Do you adore crystal and love looking at it? Looking to start a new Waterford collection? This quick introduction will get you started!

Waterford crystal reproductions range from baseball equipment, over figurines, to lovely Waterford stemware. Collecting Waterford crystal can be a rewarding experience if you can appreciate its beauty.

You can also find many decorative pieces. For example, you can decorate your living room with a Waterford crystal vase or lamp.

Many people are surprised at how heavy Waterford crystal feels when you hold it. But that can be misleading. Despite the weight, it’s still very delicate and should be handled with care!

Waterford Crystal catches light beautifully, giving sunlit spaces a very elegant and noble touch.

When beginning a new collection, it’s always wise to start with smaller, less expensive pieces to find out if it’s really for you. Once, you find a style you enjoy, you can always expand and hunt for bigger, more expensive pieces on the internet.

One word about caring for Waterford crystal though:

As I said above, the pieces are very delicate. You always have to wash it carefully by hand. Never put the crystal in a dishwasher! Dish washing detergent is abrasive and could ruin your crystal very quickly.

Here’s how I recommend you wash your Waterford crystal vase.

Use warm water and some mild lemon dish soap. Then rinse with more water and use vinegar to remove any soap deposits, so your crystal won’t get foggy.

When polishing, use a lint-free cloth, so no scraps get left behind from the rubbing.

I hope you enjoyed this quick beginners guide to Waterford crystal. Start your collection with some less expensive pieces and explore the world of Waterford from there.
